The Municipality of Western Lesvos is a municipality of the Regional Unit of Lesvos that includes the former municipalities of Kalloni, Mantamados, Agia Paraskevi, Eresos-Antissa, Polichnitos, Petra and Mithymna (Kapodistrias reform).
WESTERN LESVOS

THE PROJECT
The aim of the project is the promotion and preservation of documents, books, archival documents and folklore material collected from the ten (10) communities of Western Lesvos, in order to make them accessible to all interested parties who wish to learn about the local history of the island, thus removing geographical barriers and saving time during their research.

ARCHIVE
The Historical Archive of the Municipality of Western Lesvos contains documents of inestimable value, as they contain a wealth of information on the development of modern societies in the western part of Lesvos, as they were shaped by the economic, social and ethnological conditions that prevailed on the island during the period from the end of the 17th century to the middle of the 20th century.
